The restaurant downstairs has held a chef-hatted reputation for nearly two decades. The location is perfect — 5-min walk from central Launceston, 10-min drive from the Tamar Valley wineries, 20-min drive from Launceston airport, 2h from Cradle Mountain. Caveats: 7 suites means availability is genuinely tight. No spa, no pool. The mill location is wonderful at night but the active Tamar River works during the day mean occasional noise.
