Petit St Vincent — universally called PSV — is the 115-acre privately-owned island at the southern end of the Grenadines that operates one of the most distinctive luxury hotel concepts in the world: 22 stand-alone stone-and-timber cottages, each on its own headland with its own beach or cliff, no phones in the rooms, no Wi-Fi in the cottages, no televisions, and a flag-signal service that has been used since the resort opened in 1968. Each cottage has two flags on a bamboo mast outside: yellow means "please come, I want service" and red means "leave me alone, do not approach." A staff member on a Mule (the electric island buggy) makes the rounds checking flag positions and responds to yellow flags with whatever is written on the cottage's order pad — breakfast, drinks, dinner-on-the-terrace, a boat trip. The result is the most genuinely off-grid honeymoon experience available at this level of service in the Caribbean: nobody calls you, nobody emails you, the only interruption is the one you ask for. Cottage 9 — the most coveted of the 22, on the south point of the island with its own private cove beach, sunrise and sunset both visible from the terrace, and the farthest walk from any neighbour. Cottages on the West Beach (1-6) are the easiest access to the main beach and bar; Cottages on the South Hill (7-12) are the most private and the most photographed; Cottages on the North Beach (13-22) are the closest to the dive shop and the boats. The honeymoon couple should target a South Hill cottage, ideally 9 or 10. Book 8 to 12 months ahead for peak.

Barbados to Union Island to PSV
Connection through Barbados (BGI) on the daily SVG Air or Mustique Airways scheduled flight to Union Island (UNI), 90 minutes. PSV meets every flight with the resort's own 20-foot launch at the Union Island jetty for the 10-minute boat transfer across the channel. First arrival drink at the West Beach bar, a Mule ride to your cottage, and a quiet evening on the terrace with the cottage's first dinner delivered via flag signal.
Flag-Service Day & West Beach
The first full day at PSV is built around learning the flag system. Yellow flag in the morning brings the kitchen with breakfast on your terrace; yellow flag again later brings beach service to your cove. Most couples spend the day moving between the cottage terrace, the cottage's beach below it, and the West Beach bar for lunch. Afternoon at the spa pavilion. Dinner at the Beach Bar or at the cottage by flag signal.
Tobago Cays Snorkel & Sail
Half-day catamaran sail north to the Tobago Cays — the protected reef system with resident sea turtles and the best snorkel in the southern Caribbean. PSV's boat is included on the resort's daily excursion programme. Lunch on the boat, swim with the turtles in the Tobago Cays lagoon, return to PSV by mid-afternoon for cottage-terrace cocktails.
Mopion Sandbar Private Picnic
PSV's signature honeymoon excursion — Mopion is a tiny uninhabited sandbar 15 minutes by boat from PSV with a single thatched umbrella as its only structure. The resort drops you and a hamper on Mopion for two to three hours, then collects you. The most photographed private-island lunch in the southern Grenadines and unique to PSV. Sunset back at the cottage.
Diving Day at Mayreau & Spa
PSV's dive shop (Jean-Michel Cousteau Diving Centre) is one of the best in the southern Caribbean — the wall dives off Mayreau and the wreck of the World War I gunboat Purina are 20 minutes by RIB. A morning two-tank dive, lunch back at the resort, afternoon at the spa with the signature coconut and bay-leaf body treatment. Dinner at the main pavilion.
Union Island & Final Boat Day
A morning trip across to Union Island and the Happy Island bar — built by Janti Ramage on a tiny conch-shell platform in the middle of the lagoon, one of the most photographed bars in the Caribbean. Lunch at Aqua restaurant in Clifton harbour, return to PSV in the early afternoon. Final cottage evening with a private dinner by flag signal on the terrace.
Last Beach Morning & Departure
A final swim in the cottage cove, breakfast on the terrace, and the resort launch back across the channel to Union Island. The SVG Air flight to Barbados is a 90-minute hop with views over Mayreau, Mustique and Bequia. Most international flights from BGI depart late afternoon, leaving a comfortable connection buffer.

PSV is intentionally off-grid — no Wi-Fi or phones in the cottages, no TVs, limited cellular service. There is Wi-Fi at the main bar and reception only. Couples who need to stay connected for work should reconsider; couples who want a digital detox will find PSV transformative.
Cottages are stand-alone on their own land with no aircon — overhead fans and natural ventilation. The trade winds are excellent November-April; May-October can be warm. Open windows and screened doors are the design.
Rates are full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner included). Drinks, excursions, diving and spa are extra. The Mopion sandbar lunch, Tobago Cays sail and dive trips are the typical add-ons.

May and June are excellent shoulder months with quieter weeks and lower rates. PSV typically closes from early September through October for hurricane season and renovation.
