O veredicto
Vale a pena para sua lua de mel?
Hotel La Spiaggia is the beachfront three-star on Monterosso al Mare's Fegina seafront — a 19-room family-run hotel directly on the promenade above the largest stretch of golden sand in Cinque Terre (the only one of the five villages with a real swimmable beach), run by the Basso family alongside the affiliated Hotel Pasquale a hundred metres further along the same seafront. The hotel occupies a tall narrow 19th-century building, the seaward rooms have small French balconies opening directly over the umbrella-dotted beach, and the breakfast terrace at ground level is where most honeymoon couples eat with the sound of the morning surf and the smell of the bagnino opening the umbrella rows. There is no pool — but there is a small private beach pavilion below the hotel with reserved sun loungers, towel service, and a beach bar pouring Aperol spritz from 11am. For honeymoon couples whose Cinque Terre dream involves a proper beach (not just rock platforms and harbour swims) and the easiest possible access between the train station, the trail head, the village, and the sand, La Spiaggia is the most logistically convenient hotel in the five villages. The trade-off is the more conventional beach-hotel atmosphere and slightly less romantic positioning than the cliffside Porto Roca or the seafront-rocks Pasquale.

Recomendação de quarto
Qual quarto reservar
The Junior Suites on the top floor (rooms 23, 24, 25) are the honeymoon rooms — slightly larger footprint, the largest French balconies with the best Fegina beach panorama, and the only rooms with the curve of the bay all the way to the Capuchin headland visible from the bed. Junior Suite 24 is the most requested. $440-560 per night in shoulder. The Superior Sea-View doubles on floors 2-3 are the value option at $260-380. Avoid the back rooms with no sea view — the entire point of staying here is the beach.

Avaliação honesta
O que saber antes de reservar
La Spiaggia is a conventional beachfront three-star, not a luxury hotel — no pool (the beach pavilion replaces it), no spa, no restaurant beyond breakfast and beach bar; pay up for the Junior Suite category.
Summer weekends the Fegina seafront promenade has heavy foot traffic until late; couples wanting silence should request floor 3 rooms.
Standard rooms are small (15-20 sqm); Junior Suites are the only category with proper space.
Closed November through March.

FAQ
Perguntas frequentes
Good for honeymooners?
La Spiaggia is the right beachfront honeymoon hotel for couples whose Cinque Terre trip prioritizes beach access, easy logistics, and the convenience of Monterosso as a base. Couples wanting cliffside drama (Porto Roca) or village immersion (La Mala, La Marina) should choose differently.
Best time to visit?
May-June and September-October are ideal. July-August is brutal heat and overwhelming day-tripper crowds. November-March the hotel is closed.
Book in advance?
Junior Suites and sea-view doubles book 3-4 months ahead for shoulder season. Beach pavilion lounger reservations are made on arrival.
Adults-only?
No — La Spiaggia welcomes families and the beach access makes it a popular choice for them. Honeymooners and couples are still a strong share but the guest mix is broader than at Porto Roca or La Mala.
Best room type?
Junior Suite on the top floor (room 23, 24, or 25) for the largest balcony and full bay panorama. Superior Sea-View doubles for value.
How to get there?
Train to Monterosso al Mare via La Spezia from Pisa (1.5h) or Milan (3h). Three-minute walk from the station along the seafront.
