The couples who do this poorly try to fit a third stop (Seminyak, Canggu, the Gilis) into 7 nights and end up with a fragmented trip. The discipline is Ubud first, Uluwatu second, and nothing else.

Can we skip the Ubud half?
You can — but you'll miss the cultural depth that makes a Bali honeymoon different from a generic beach honeymoon. The Uluwatu beach experience exists in many parts of Southeast Asia; the Ubud spiritual + rice-paddy experience is uniquely Balinese.
Best month for Bali?
May–September is the dry season; June–August is the absolute peak. April and October are shoulder months with occasional showers but excellent value.
What about food?
Bali's food scene is one of Southeast Asia's strongest. Locavore in Ubud is internationally renowned; Cuca in Jimbaran is one of the best in Asia; in-resort dining at Capella and Bulgari is excellent. Don't miss at least one off-resort dinner.
Should we drive ourselves between properties?
No — book the resort transfer ($150–300). Balinese traffic is unpredictable, parking is difficult, and the cost difference versus self-drive (rental + insurance + stress) is minimal. The resort driver is the right call.
