Fly into Sangster (MBJ) and transfer 90 minutes east along the north coast to Oracabessa, or alternatively into Ian Fleming International (OCJ) just 10 minutes from GoldenEye. First evening at the Gazebo bar — the open-air cocktail spot above the bay where Bond writers drank rum punch — followed by dinner at the Bizot Bar on the beach.
Lagoon, Beach & Snorkeling
GoldenEye has three swimming environments: the saltwater lagoon (calm, perfect for kayaking from your villa dock), the small private beach with snorkeling reef, and the freshwater pool. A morning kayak around the lagoon's mangroves, lunch at the Bizot Bar, and an afternoon snorkel along the reef edge with a guide.
Bob Marley Mausoleum at Nine Mile
Drive inland 90 minutes to Nine Mile in St. Ann's Parish — the village where Bob Marley was born and is buried. The Marley family runs the tour of the simple wooden house, the rock pillow Bob slept on, and the marble mausoleum painted in Rasta colours. A genuinely moving stop, especially for honeymooners who connect through the music. Return via a Blue Mountain coffee plantation.
Dunn's River Falls & Ocho Rios
A short 30-minute drive west to the iconic Dunn's River Falls — the 180-foot terraced cascade where guides lead climbers up the falls themselves. Go at 8am to beat the cruise-ship crowds. Lunch at Miss T's Kitchen in Ocho Rios for the best curry goat on the island, then return for a sunset swim in the GoldenEye lagoon.
Spa Day & Fleming Villa Tour
Morning at FieldSpa, GoldenEye's open-air spa where treatments happen in private bamboo cabanas with the sound of the bay below. Afternoon tour of Fleming's original villa, his writing desk overlooking the sea where the Bond novels were typed, and Noel Coward's Firefly nearby (a 15-minute drive — Coward's preserved hilltop home with the most spectacular view in Jamaica).
Boat Day to Pagee Beach
Private boat charter east along the coast to Pagee Beach and the fishing village of Port Maria — the same waters where Fleming swam each morning before writing. Stop at the secluded beaches accessible only by boat, lunch on board, and snorkel the offshore reefs. Late afternoon return for a final cocktail at the Gazebo as the sun drops behind the headland.
Lagoon Morning & Departure
Final breakfast on the lagoon villa deck, a last kayak around the lagoon, and the short transfer to Ian Fleming International for departure (or 90 minutes back to MBJ for international connections). GoldenEye is the rare hotel where seven nights feels short.
