Manava Beach Resort is Moorea's best value four-star with a small overwater bungalow collection — a practical, unfussy choice for honeymooners who want the overwater experience without the Sofitel or Hilton price tag. Set on Paopao Bay on the lee side of the island, the property has 106 rooms plus 40 overwater bungalows, one of the largest infinity pools on Moorea, a pleasant beach (softer sand, slightly cloudier water than Temae), and a competent spa. The signature move here is the all-inclusive package, which is rare in French Polynesia: you can lock in meals and drinks up front and stop worrying about $40 cocktails. Service is friendly without being polished, rooms are clean and comfortable without being luxurious, and the overwater bungalows are smaller and simpler than at Sofitel but still deliver the core fantasy — ladder, deck, lagoon, view of the mountains. For honeymoon couples who want Polynesia done sensibly and then splurge on 2-3 nights overwater in Bora Bora, Manava is the most budget-intelligent Moorea base. Not aspirational, but genuinely good.
