Le verdict
Cela vaut-il le coup pour votre voyage de noces ?
Phum Baitang — meaning 'green village' in Khmer — is Zannier Hotels' 45-villa retreat set on eight hectares of working rice paddies just 15 minutes from Angkor's temples. The architecture is a love letter to traditional Cambodian village life: timber stilted villas with thatched roofs, pebbled paths winding past lily ponds, a herd of water buffalo grazing the fields, and an infinity pool that pours visually into the rice terraces beyond. For honeymooners, this is the rare Siem Reap address that combines world-class temple access with deep rural calm — you return from sunrise at Angkor Wat to a private pool villa surrounded by birdsong and the soft rustle of rice stalks. The wellness focus is genuine: Bodia Spa treatments use local ingredients, dawn yoga happens in a stilted pavilion above the paddies, and the pace of the property is unmistakably slow. Few honeymoon hotels marry a UNESCO-scale cultural pilgrimage with this much pastoral romance.

Recommandation de chambre
Quelle chambre réserver
Book a Pool Villa for the full Phum Baitang honeymoon. Each is a freestanding stilted timber pavilion of around 105 square metres with its own 8-metre private plunge pool on a wooden deck overlooking the paddies, an outdoor rain shower screened by tropical planting, a freestanding bathtub set by a window onto the fields, and a private garden enclosed for total seclusion. Wake to mist hovering over the rice and the silhouettes of water buffalo at the field edge. The Two-Bedroom Pool Villa is overkill for two — the standard Pool Villa is the sweet spot. Terrace Villas (without private pools) are still beautiful but lack the all-day privacy that defines a great honeymoon room.

Jour par jour
Itinéraire de 7 nuits pour votre voyage de noces
Arrival & Rice Paddy Sundowners
Land at Siem Reap International, met by Phum Baitang's driver, and arrive at the property within 30 minutes. Check in over a welcome iced lemongrass tea, then settle into your Pool Villa. Spend the afternoon decompressing in your plunge pool. Sundowners at Hang Bay restaurant on the rice terrace — order Cambodian sour mango margaritas as the buffalo wander home and the paddies turn gold.
Sunrise at Angkor Wat & Bayon
4:30am wake-up with hot coffee delivered to your villa. Private guide and air-conditioned vehicle to Angkor Wat for the iconic sunrise behind the five towers. Continue to Bayon temple inside Angkor Thom — the 216 enigmatic stone faces in the morning light are extraordinary. Return for a late breakfast and the rest of the day at the infinity pool.
Ta Prohm & Banteay Srei
Mid-morning departure to Ta Prohm, where giant silk-cotton trees grow through the temple walls — Cambodia's most photographed jungle ruin. Lunch at a quiet local spot, then drive 25km north to Banteay Srei, the 'Citadel of Women', a miniature pink sandstone temple with the most exquisite carvings in the entire Angkor complex. Back in time for a paddy-side dinner under candle lanterns.
Spa Day & Khmer Cooking Class
A full day at the property. Morning yoga in the stilted pavilion above the paddies, then a four-hand Khmer signature massage at Bodia Spa using lemongrass, kaffir lime, and turmeric oils. Afternoon Khmer cooking class with the head chef — pick herbs from the organic garden and cook fish amok in banana leaf, beef lok lak, and green mango salad. Eat your creations on your villa deck.
Tonle Sap Floating Villages
Drive south to Kompong Phluk, a stilted village on Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake. Boat through the flooded forest in a wooden longtail, visit the floating school and pagoda, and lunch with views over the lake. Return to Phum Baitang in the late afternoon for a private dip and a quiet dinner at Bay Phsar restaurant.
Phnom Kulen & 1000 Lingas
Day trip to Phnom Kulen National Park, the sacred mountain where the Khmer Empire was founded in 802 AD. Visit the riverbed of the Thousand Lingas, swim in the waterfall pools, and see the giant reclining Buddha carved on top of the mountain. Picnic lunch arranged by Phum Baitang. Return for an unhurried dinner on your villa terrace.
Spa, Sunset Cocktails & Farewell
A slow final day. Couples massage in the morning, late breakfast on your deck, and an afternoon at the infinity pool. As the light turns golden, ride bicycles through the property's paddies and lily ponds. Farewell dinner at the Cigar & Cocktail Bar in the renovated old farmhouse — a fitting close to a week that balanced ancient Angkor with modern stillness.

Ce qu'il faut savoir avant de réserver
Heat is intense from March through May, often hitting 38–40°C; temple touring before 9am and after 4pm is essential, with the rest of the day spent by your villa pool.
The southwest monsoon runs June through October — the rice paddies look at their most photogenic green but afternoon downpours are routine.
The Angkor Archaeological Park pass is tiered (1-day, 3-day, 7-day) and priced separately from the hotel; bring USD cash and a passport photo to the official ticket office.
Temples enforce a strict dress code: shoulders and knees covered for both men and women — pack a light scarf and breathable trousers.

FAQ
Questions fréquentes
Good for honeymooners?
Phum Baitang is one of the most romantic addresses in Cambodia. The 45 stilted villas are spaced widely across eight hectares of rice paddy, the Pool Villas give you complete daytime privacy, and the property's wellness focus — yoga pavilion, Bodia Spa, organic kitchen — sets a slow honeymoon rhythm. Add private dawn access to Angkor Wat and the combination is unmatched.
How many days do we need at Angkor?
Three full days of temple touring is the sweet spot — enough to cover Angkor Wat, Bayon and Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei and Preah Khan without temple fatigue. Many honeymooners buy the 3-day pass (which is valid across a 10-day window) and intersperse temples with spa days, the floating villages, and Phnom Kulen.
Do we need a visa?
Most nationalities can obtain a Cambodian e-visa online before travel or a visa on arrival at Siem Reap International Airport. Bring a passport photo and USD 30 cash for the visa-on-arrival fee. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond entry. Always confirm the latest requirements with your country's foreign ministry before travel.
Best time to visit?
November through February is the dry, cooler season and the best window for temple exploration — sunny days, low humidity, and clear sunrise skies at Angkor Wat. March to May is dry but very hot. June to October is the green season — fewer tourists, dramatic skies, and the rice paddies around Phum Baitang at their lushest, with brief but heavy afternoon showers.
Is the hotel adults-only?
Phum Baitang is not adults-only and does welcome families, but the property's spread-out villa layout and contemplative pace mean honeymooners rarely encounter children. The Pool Villas are entirely private with their own walled gardens. The infinity pool, spa, and yoga pavilion all skew strongly adult.
Currency — do they take US dollars?
Yes — US dollars are the de facto currency across Cambodia, including at Phum Baitang, restaurants, temples, tuk-tuks, and shops. Bring clean, undamaged bills in small denominations (1s, 5s, 10s, 20s). Cambodian riel is used for change under one dollar. Major credit cards are accepted at the hotel and high-end restaurants but rarely elsewhere.
