Although Al Husn itself is adults-only, the wider Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah complex is very family-oriented — on resort walks you will see plenty of children, even if not at your pool.
The beach cove is small; the bigger 1 km beach at Al Bandar is open to children, which means the adults-only experience is concentrated at the pool and lounge.
Muscat is a city destination — road noise is occasionally audible on windy days from the coastal highway.
