Le verdict
Cela vaut-il le coup pour votre voyage de noces ?
The Vines Resort & Spa sits at 1,200 metres in the Uco Valley — Mendoza's highest-altitude wine region — on a 1,500-acre private estate surrounded by its own vineyards and the jagged Andes. Twenty-two stone-and-glass villas, all with private plunge pools and corner fireplaces, are spaced generously across the property, and the on-site Francis Mallmann restaurant Siete Fuegos has become a destination in its own right. For couples who want the Uco's extraordinary terroir alongside a more design-forward, contemporary villa than Cavas, this is the benchmark choice.

Jour par jour
Itinéraire de 7 nuits pour votre voyage de noces
Uco Valley Arrival
Private transfer from Mendoza airport (around 90 minutes through vineyards and foothills). A glass of Uco Malbec on arrival, unpack, and settle into the villa. Dinner at Siete Fuegos watching Francis Mallmann's fire-cooking rigs at sunset.
Estate & Spa Day
A slow morning on the villa terrace, then a guided vineyard walk with the winemaker and a private blending session in the cellar. Lunch by the infinity pool, and a long couples' ritual at The Vines Spa. Dinner at Siete Fuegos with paired wine flight.
Uco Valley Bodega Tour
A private day exploring three Uco bodegas — typically Zuccardi Valle de Uco, Andeluna, and Salentein. Lunch at one of the wineries, return for a plunge-pool afternoon and a quiet in-villa dinner by the fireplace.
Horseback Trail Ride
A guided morning horseback ride through the estate vineyards and into the foothills, finishing with a gaucho-style asado lunch at the property's remote lookout. Afternoon nap, evening cocktails at the main lodge bar, dinner at Siete Fuegos' empanada counter.
Aconcagua & Andes Day
Drive north with a private guide toward Aconcagua for panoramic Andean overlooks and a picnic lunch on a mountain terrace. Return by mid-afternoon for a swim, massage, and an early supper in your villa.
Yoga, Bikes & Sunset
Morning yoga in the valley pavilion, e-bikes through the vineyards, long lunch, then a couples' spa treatment. For the final night, the team lights your outdoor fireplace for a private terrace dinner under the Andes stars.
Farewell Morning
Breakfast on the terrace, a final walk along the vineyard path, and private transfer to Mendoza airport — or a leisurely drive over the Andes to Santiago de Chile for an extended honeymoon.
Évaluation honnête
Ce qu'il faut savoir avant de réserver
The Vines is deep in the Uco Valley — transfers from Mendoza take 90 minutes each way, and there is essentially no off-property dining within a short drive, so build your itinerary around the estate.
Summer days are hot and bright at this altitude — bring proper sun protection and plan outdoor activities for morning or late afternoon.
Winter (June–August) nights are genuinely cold; the corner fireplaces are part of the magic, but bring layers for evening dining terraces.

FAQ
Questions fréquentes
How does The Vines compare with Cavas Wine Lodge?
Cavas is smaller (18 villas), lower-altitude (Luján de Cuyo), and more classically adobe. The Vines is larger (22 villas), higher (Uco Valley), and more contemporary in design, with Siete Fuegos on-site as a major dining draw. Many couples split three nights at each to compare the two Mendoza sub-regions.
Is Siete Fuegos bookable without staying?
Yes, but in-house guests receive priority booking and prime sunset tables. If Francis Mallmann's open-fire cooking was a reason you chose Argentina, build at least two Siete Fuegos dinners into your stay.
How many nights do we need?
Four is ideal — one estate day, one Uco bodega day, one Andes or horseback day, and one pure villa-and-spa day. Three nights works if paired with Cavas or Buenos Aires; five for total wine-country immersion.
Is it adults-only?
No, children are welcome, but the villas are spread out and honeymooners rarely notice other guests. The main pool, spa, and Siete Fuegos skew overwhelmingly adult.
How's the altitude?
At 1,200 metres you may notice faster breathing on the first day and slightly earlier alcohol effects — stay hydrated and pace your wine tastings. Sleep is usually excellent because the dry air and low light pollution make for remarkably clear nights.
How do we combine with Patagonia or Buenos Aires?
Most itineraries are BA (3 nights) → Mendoza/Uco (4 nights) → Patagonia (3–4 nights). Internal flights connect via Buenos Aires and should be booked with at least 3-hour buffers on the Aerolíneas Argentinas domestic hub.
