The Verdict

Worth it for your honeymoon?

EALA My Lakeside Dream is the second adults-only honeymoon hotel on Lake Garda — a 65-room contemporary luxury hotel directly on the lakeshore at Limone sul Garda, the northwestern town where the limestone cliffs of the lake rise most dramatically and the lemon-grove terraces above the road give the town its name. Opened in 2019 by the Toscolano group, EALA is purpose-built as an adults-only resort: minimum age 16, no families, and architecture (multiple infinity pools, private jetty, lakeside terraces) oriented entirely around adult-couple comfort. The setting is the entire proposition: where Cape of Senses sits 300m above the lake on a hillside, EALA sits at the water — the infinity pool extends to the lake edge, the private jetty allows direct lake swimming and the hotel’s own gozzo boat departs from your feet, and the alpine cliffs rise immediately above. The spa is the second proposition — 1,500m² over two floors, indoor pool, multiple saunas, thermal experiences, and a couples-only suite with private hot tub. The dining is good (Senso Restaurant, Mediterranean tasting menu) but not Michelin-ambitious. The honeymoon move is one of the Junior Suite Lake View rooms (the lakeside wing rooms have the best views and the closest jetty access), 4–5 nights, with the hotel’s gozzo boat for one day and an excursion to the Dolomites (1h drive). Caveats: Limone village is touristy in summer (cliff-edge town, lots of day-trippers from the ferry); the hotel’s lakeside position means traffic noise from the SS45 coastal road for some rooms (request lake-facing on a higher floor); and the architecture is contemporary, not historic Italian.

Room Recommendation

Which room to book

Expert Pick
from $550–$1,800/night range

A Junior Suite Lake View in the lakeside wing (Floor 4 or 5, lake-facing, with private terrace and view to the alpine cliffs across the water) is the honeymoon room. For full splurge, the Sky Suite with private rooftop pool. Avoid road-facing standard rooms.

Honest Assessment

What to know before you book

!

Limone village is touristy in summer — day-trippers from the lake ferries flood the centre 11am–4pm. The hotel’s private grounds are the antidote.

!

Lakeside road (SS45) runs immediately behind the property — request a lake-facing room on Floor 3 or above to avoid road noise.

!

Contemporary architecture, not historic. For Liberty-villa atmosphere, choose Villa Cortine or Villa Feltrinelli instead.
