Petra by Candlelight
Rest, swim and have lunch at Al Iwan. In the evening walk 15 minutes to the Petra by Candlelight experience — 1,500 candles lighting the Siq to the Treasury, with live Bedouin music beneath the stars.
Monastery hike
Enter Petra again for the 800-step climb to the Ad Deir Monastery, with a champagne picnic arranged by the concierge at a viewpoint. Back at the hotel, book a couples hammam in the spa.

Optional 90-minute drive to Wadi Rum for a morning 4x4 desert tour and lunch in the red dunes, returning to Petra for farewell cocktails on the rooftop.

Honest Assessment
What to know before you book
The main pool is open-air and modestly sized for the room count, so arrive early to secure the shaded loungers, especially from May to September when daytime temperatures climb above 35C.
Wadi Musa is a small conservative town with limited nightlife outside the hotel — the only real bar beyond the resort is the rooftop at Mövenpick, so plan all evenings around the hotel itself.
Petra entry tickets and the Petra by Candlelight show are not included and must be bought separately at the visitor centre or via the concierge with a small booking fee applied.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is this hotel good for honeymooners?
Yes — the proximity to Petra, the candlelit courtyard restaurant and a serious spa make it the most romantic base in Wadi Musa. Upgrading to a suite gives you the balcony view that defines the honeymoon experience here.
What is the best time to visit?
March to May and October to November are ideal, with 18-26C days, wildflowers in the canyons and manageable crowds. Winter can be surprisingly cold in Petra and summer heat makes hiking tough.
What should we book in advance?
Pre-book a licensed Petra guide for your first morning, Petra by Candlelight tickets on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, and a couples massage at the Zara Spa scheduled for the afternoon of your Monastery hike.
Is it adults-only?
No, it welcomes families, but the refined Moorish interiors and quiet evenings naturally give an adult atmosphere. Request a high floor Executive Suite away from any school-holiday tour groups for maximum calm.
What's the best room type for a honeymoon?
The Executive Suite with Petra view is the honeymoon room of choice — king bed, separate living room, marble bathroom and balcony overlooking the entrance gate that glows at dawn and dusk.
How do we get there?
Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) is three hours north by car or King Hussein International (AQJ) in Aqaba is two hours south. Both transfers can be arranged through the hotel in private Mercedes vehicles.
