Andermatt ski-in/ski-out is real but technically the hotel is a 200-metre walk or short shuttle to the Gemsstock gondola. In deep snow it can feel further — use the ski butler to transport gear both ways.
The Chedi is architecturally magnificent but not especially intimate; it's a 123-key resort with quite a lot of public life. Couples seeking a very small, hushed chalet should look at The Alpina Gstaad instead.
Andermatt's bar and restaurant scene outside the hotel is still developing. Most couples will eat at the hotel most nights — plan dining reservations in advance, especially for The Japanese Restaurant which books out fast.
