Long Transit & First Sunset
The journey to Misool is part of the experience: fly Singapore or Jakarta to Sorong (SOQ) in West Papua — typically with an overnight in Jakarta or Makassar. Misool's private speedboat collects you in Sorong at dawn for the four-hour crossing south to the resort. Karst islands rise out of the water like green pyramids. Arrive in time for a late lunch, an orientation snorkel from the jetty, and your first sunset over the Misool seascape from your water-cottage deck.
House-Reef Snorkel & Yoga
Misool's house-reef is regularly cited as one of the best in the world — pygmy seahorses, walking sharks, blacktip reef sharks and turtles all visible directly from the resort jetty. Raja Ampat's weather windows are October to April for the south Misool area (Misool Resort's location) and May to September for the northern Waigeo islands — the resort closes annually for the off-season, typically late June through early September.
