The Verdict
Worth it for your honeymoon?
The Fullerton Bay Hotel is the most architecturally ambitious five-star in Singapore — a 100-room glass and bronze pavilion designed by André Fu, sitting on the water at the historic Clifford Pier on the Marina Bay waterfront, with the famous Lantern rooftop bar suspended above it. Every room faces the bay. The hotel is structurally connected (by a covered bridge) to its older sister, the Fullerton Hotel (the 400-room neo-classical former General Post Office) — but the Bay property is the one to choose for honeymooners. It is smaller (100 rooms vs 400), more design-led, has direct waterfront access, and the Lantern rooftop pool with the iconic Marina Bay Sands view across the water is one of the most romantic sundown spots in the city. The rooms are André Fu — pale parquet, bronze fittings, raw silk, walk-in showers with bay views — and every room has a floor-to-ceiling glass wall onto Marina Bay. The signature is the 6th-floor Lantern bar and infinity pool, perched on a structural bronze lantern over Clifford Pier — sunsets here, with the Sands directly across the water turning gold, then violet, are a Singapore honeymoon ritual. The dining lineup is exceptional: La Brasserie (French, by André Chiang protégés) is one of the city's best classical-European rooms; Clifford Pier (the historic seafood restaurant) does dim sum and seafood with bay views; and the Landing Point ground-floor lounge is the city's most underrated afternoon-tea room. Spa treatments are at The Fullerton Spa (in the sister hotel across the bridge) — fine but not the property's strongest suit. The honeymoon room picks are clear: the Premier Bay View on floors 5 and 6 for the full glass-front Sands panorama, the Loft (1,184 sq ft, vaulted ceiling, oversized bath) for the architectural splurge, or the Presidential Suite for the destination. Caveats: the property is intensely urban (no beach, no rainforest); the spa is across the bridge in the older sister; and the older Fullerton next door can feel touristic by comparison. But for couples who want the most design-forward, most photogenic Marina Bay address — the Fullerton Bay is the move.

Room Recommendation
Which room to book
The Premier Bay View room (484 sq ft) on floors 5 or 6 — the full floor-to-ceiling glass wall onto Marina Bay, André Fu's pale-parquet design, the freestanding bath set into the bay-facing window. For the splurge, the Loft (1,184 sq ft) with vaulted ceiling and oversized bath. The Presidential Suite (1,884 sq ft) faces the Sands directly. Avoid rooms numbered _01 to _10 on the lower floors — partial views and pier-side noise.
