Room Recommendation
Which room to book
All eleven igloos face the Lyngen Alps over the fjord, so any will deliver the headline view. The Premium Aurora Igloos are larger with an integrated kitchenette and better insulation for deep winter, while the standard glass igloos are cosier and lower-priced. Book a Premium for honeymoon-grade comfort and the best chance of long, lazy aurora-watching nights in bed.

Day by Day
Your 7-night honeymoon itinerary
Arrival in Lyngen
Fly into Tromsø (TOS), then a 2-hour scenic transfer along the Lyngenfjord. Check into your glass igloo, take a first sauna and a quiet welcome supper while the sky darkens for a possible first aurora show.
Reindeer farm visit
Drive to a working Sami reindeer farm for a half-day visit — feed the herd, learn lasso-throwing and share a traditional bidos stew inside a lavvu tent. Back at the igloo for sauna and aurora-watching from bed.
Dog sledding day
Half-day dog-sledding tour through Arctic birch forest with a Lyngen musher. Hot chocolate and reindeer-skin blankets at the lunch stop, return to the igloo for in-room dining and a long Northern Lights vigil.
Whale safari from Skjervøy
From November to mid-January join a whale safari from nearby Skjervøy — humpback and orca pods follow the herring into Lyngen waters. Out of season, swap for a snow-shoe hike or a fjord cruise.
Slow sauna day
An unstructured day in the igloo: long breakfast, an afternoon snow-shoe walk along the fjord, two sauna-and-fjord-plunge rituals. Late dinner of king crab with the aurora forecast running in the corner of the screen.
Tromsø day trip
Drive 2 hours to Tromsø for the Arctic Cathedral, the cable car up Storsteinen mountain and lunch on the Tromsø harbour. Return to the igloo by sunset for the final Northern Lights night.
Farewell
Slow Arctic breakfast, a last sauna, then transfer back to Tromsø Langnes. Many couples connect onward to Lofoten for a few extra Arctic days or fly south to Bergen for the fjords.
Honest Assessment
What to know before you book
Northern Lights are never guaranteed — book a minimum of 4 nights in Sept-April to maximise chances.
Igloos are intentionally compact — small bathrooms and limited storage.
Remote Arctic location — a hire car is recommended unless you book all transfers and excursions.
Summer (May-August) means midnight sun and no aurora visibility; the property pivots to fjord and hiking experiences.
Only 11 igloos; books out 6-9 months ahead for peak aurora season (Jan-Mar).

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Good for honeymooners?
Outstanding — small, fjord-side, with the rare combination of aurora-from-bed views and proper Arctic excursions. Couples make up the majority of guests in winter.
Best time to visit?
Late September to early April for Northern Lights, with January to March the most reliable. June-July for midnight sun and 24-hour daylight, no aurora.
Book in advance?
6-9 months ahead for peak aurora season (Jan-Mar); 3-4 months in shoulder months.
Adults-only?
No, but the scale and remote Arctic setting make it an overwhelmingly adults-led property.
Best room type?
A Premium Aurora Igloo for warmth and space, or a standard glass igloo for the same headline view at a lower price.
How to get there?
Fly into Tromsø Langnes (TOS), then a 2-hour transfer along the Lyngenfjord. Direct flights to TOS from Oslo, London, Helsinki and seasonally from major European hubs.
