Arrival in Lyngen
Fly into Tromsø (TOS), then a 2-hour scenic transfer along the Lyngenfjord. Check into your glass igloo, take a first sauna and a quiet welcome supper while the sky darkens for a possible first aurora show.
Reindeer farm visit
Drive to a working Sami reindeer farm for a half-day visit — feed the herd, learn lasso-throwing and share a traditional bidos stew inside a lavvu tent. Back at the igloo for sauna and aurora-watching from bed.
Dog sledding day
Half-day dog-sledding tour through Arctic birch forest with a Lyngen musher. Hot chocolate and reindeer-skin blankets at the lunch stop, return to the igloo for in-room dining and a long Northern Lights vigil.
Whale safari from Skjervøy
From November to mid-January join a whale safari from nearby Skjervøy — humpback and orca pods follow the herring into Lyngen waters. Out of season, swap for a snow-shoe hike or a fjord cruise.
Slow sauna day
An unstructured day in the igloo: long breakfast, an afternoon snow-shoe walk along the fjord, two sauna-and-fjord-plunge rituals. Late dinner of king crab with the aurora forecast running in the corner of the screen.
Tromsø day trip
Drive 2 hours to Tromsø for the Arctic Cathedral, the cable car up Storsteinen mountain and lunch on the Tromsø harbour. Return to the igloo by sunset for the final Northern Lights night.
Farewell
Slow Arctic breakfast, a last sauna, then transfer back to Tromsø Langnes. Many couples connect onward to Lofoten for a few extra Arctic days or fly south to Bergen for the fjords.
