Worth it for your honeymoon?
Be Tulum is the original Tulum-strip icon — the property that defined the global "jungle meets beach, candlelit, all-natural materials, adults-only" aesthetic that has been copied by a thousand resorts since. 64 suites and villas on the Tulum beach road, mostly with private plunge pools, all walled with vines and driftwood, lit at night by what feels like a thousand candles. It is adults-only. The beach is one of the loveliest stretches of the Tulum zone. The Yäan Wellness spa is genuinely excellent. The hotel's sand-floor bar with hammocks is among the most photographed bars in Mexico. Caveats: the Tulum strip's sargassum issue varies year to year, and Be Tulum's barriers are good but not Belmond-level. The grid-power-vs-solar setup means some suites are warmer than others in summer (visit Nov–March). Service is laid-back-Tulum, not Belmond-precise. But for the original jungle-beach Tulum honeymoon — and for the iconic Be Tulum candlelit-bar evenings — this is the address.
