Worth it for your honeymoon?
Tivoli Carvoeiro is the most dramatically positioned mainstream-luxury resort on the Algarve — 248 rooms in a triangular cliff-edge building above Vale Covo cove in Carvoeiro, with arguably the single most photographed infinity pool in Portugal (the one that appears to flow over the cliff into the Atlantic). The resort underwent a full Tivoli renovation in 2018 and now sits comfortably in the five-star modern-luxury bracket. The Sea Beauty Spa is genuinely good (not boutique-elite). There are four restaurants including the rooftop Sky Bar with panoramic cliff views. The Carvoeiro town and cove are 5-min walk from the hotel. Praia da Marinha (the iconic limestone-arches beach) is 10 minutes drive. Caveats: at 248 rooms this is large and family-friendly. Standard rooms are pleasant but unremarkable; only Premium Ocean View categories and the Casa Suite are honeymoon-grade. The cliff pool is the photograph; in reality the pool is busy mid-day. But the location is unbeatable for the central Algarve and the value is genuinely strong.
