Andaz Mayakoba is the design-forward value entry to the Mayakoba estate — 214 rooms with a sharper, younger aesthetic than its Rosewood and Banyan Tree siblings, and rates routinely 40% lower. For honeymooners who want full Mayakoba beach access, mangrove canals, and reciprocity to the Sense Spa (book at Rosewood, use everywhere) without paying $1,500 a night, Andaz is the smartest play on the coast. The Casa Amate restaurant — modern Mexican by chef Larry Greenwood — is one of the most exciting restaurants on the Yucatán. The cenote-style main pool, carved into the mangrove with stone overhangs, is one of the most photogenic resort pools in Mexico. Caveats: rooms (not villas) feel less honeymoon-private than the Rosewood lagoon suites. The resort is genuinely family-friendly in school holidays. The beachfront is shared with Banyan Tree and Rosewood guests — not exclusive.
