The Verdict
Worth it for your honeymoon?
Capri Palace Jumeirah is the food-and-spa pinnacle on Capri — a 68-room cliff-edge property in the quieter, higher Anacapri half of the island, originally built by Italian hotelier Tonino Cacace in the 1960s, redesigned in the 1990s as a contemporary art-and-design hotel (the corridors and public rooms host a serious permanent collection — Cesare Tacchi, Vettor Pisani, Massimo Lippi), and acquired by Dubai’s Jumeirah Group in 2019 in a partnership that has elevated service to international five-star standard without losing the property’s distinct Italian artistic identity. The defining anchors are food and wellness. L’Olivo holds two Michelin stars under chef Andrea Migliaccio — the only two-star restaurant on the island and one of only a handful in Campania — serving Mediterranean creative tasting menus on the panoramic Anacapri terrace. The sister restaurant Il Riccio, on the cliff at the foot of the Anacapri road, holds one Michelin star and is the destination Capri seafood restaurant (book a year ahead in summer). The Capri Medical Spa, a 2,000 sqm wellness operation, is among the most credible medical spas in Italy — including the famous Leg School operated by Dr Francesco Canonaco specialising in leg-and-circulation programs that bring international celebrity clientele each summer. The infinity pool overlooks the Bay of Naples with the Punta Carena lighthouse in the distance. The Il Riccio Beach Club below the cliff is one of the great Capri swim platforms. The honeymoon move is the Megaron Suite — a 130 sqm rooftop suite with private hammam and pool. For the sweet spot, an Acanthus Suite with private terrace. The defining moment: dinner at L’Olivo on the candlelit terrace, two Michelin stars, the Capri lights below. Caveats: Anacapri is the quieter half — the Piazzetta scene in Capri Town is a 15-minute taxi ride away; at 68 rooms the property is larger than the J.K. Place’s 22; and the spa orientation can make the atmosphere feel more wellness-clinic than honeymoon-fizz. But for honeymooners who want the best food on the island, the most serious spa, and a quieter Anacapri base, Capri Palace Jumeirah is the obvious top choice.

Room Recommendation
Which room to book
A Megaron Suite — 130 sqm rooftop with private hammam and plunge pool. For the sweet spot, an Acanthus Suite with private terrace and sea view. Avoid the standard Mediterranean rooms without private outdoor space — lovely interiors but the terrace is the whole point.
