Hotel Quisisana is the historic grande dame of Capri Town — opened in 1845 by an English doctor as a sanatorium (the name “Qui si sana” means “here one heals”), converted to a hotel in the late 19th century, and run by the Morgano family since 1928 across three generations. One hundred and fourteen rooms make it the largest of the great Capri honeymoon hotels (it is also, by some distance, the most socially energetic — the Krug Bar on the via Camerelle entrance is the buzziest hotel bar on the island and the place a Capri evening genuinely begins). The location is the genuine selling point: the Quisisana faces directly onto via Camerelle, the great shopping street, with the Piazzetta a 90-second walk in one direction and the Belvedere di Tragara 8 minutes in the other.
